Miami Grand Prix moved to 13:00 as Weather Today shifts race window
Miami Grand Prix organizers moved Sunday’s start to 13:00 local time, three hours earlier than planned, after weather today forecasts pointed to heavy rainstorms later in the day. The fifth edition had been set for 16:00 local time before discussions involving the FIA, Formula 1 and the Miami Grand Prix.

The change gives Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli, who will start on pole position, and Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, who will complete the front row, a different race window than the one originally published. FIA, Formula 1 and the Miami Grand Prix said the move was made to ensure the least amount of disruption and the maximum possible window to complete the Grand Prix in the best conditions.
Sunday in Miami
The revised start comes after heavy rainstorms were forecast for later in the day on Sunday near the original race time. The schedule change was also taken to prioritise the safety of drivers, fans, teams and staff, according to the FIA, Formula 1 and the Miami Grand Prix.
For anyone following the race in Miami, the practical change is simple: the field will now go green at 13:00 local time instead of 16:00. Antonelli leads the grid, Verstappen shares the front row, and the race now has a longer buffer before the later weather arrives.
