The incident was at Junction 1a on the M25, where Inrix said one lane was blocked because of the broken down vehicle at M25 QE2 Bridge clockwise at J1a A206 / Dartford (Swanscombe). The live traffic update put the disruption on the clockwise side of the crossing, which is the route drivers were already using as the morning rush began.

QEII Bridge delays

The first clear impact for drivers was slower movement on the QEII Bridge approach. The queue extended back a mile before J30 A13 (Lakeside), giving motorists a measured sign of how far the delay had spread along the route.
