Go Train Barrie Line schedule changes start Monday, May 4

GO Transit is adjusting go train service on the Barrie Line from Monday, May 4, until Thursday, May 14 because of infrastructure work. Southbound trains will leave up to 13 minutes earlier and arrive up to 10 minutes later at stations during the next 10 days.

Northbound trains will leave Union Station up to eight minutes earlier and arrive at stations along the line 10 minutes later than regularly scheduled. Metrolinx said the trains will run slower than usual during the work period to help protect completed work and keep service safe and reliable.

The adjustment affects both directions of service, so riders boarding before work or returning after it will need to follow the revised timetable rather than the usual one. Metrolinx said temporarily changing the schedule helps customers arrive as close as possible to their regular arrival times and minimizes the impact to the commute.

A complete list of the changes and updated departure times is posted on the gotransit website. For riders who depend on tight transfers, the practical shift is simple: the trip now starts earlier on one end and ends later on the other, leaving less room to miss a connection.

Aurora GO to Maple GO

GO buses will be available at Aurora GO to take commuters to King City and then onto Maple GO. Commuters can connect to the adjusted GO train service at Maple GO, giving riders an alternate path while the line work continues.

The schedule change runs from Monday, May 4, through Thursday, May 14, so riders using the Barrie Line need to check departure times before travel and plan for the earlier southbound and northbound departures now in place.
