Juke Harris Commits to Tennessee as No. 8 Transfer

juke harris committed to Tennessee after transferring from Wake Forest, giving Rick Barnes a 6-foot-7 guard ranked No. 8 overall in the 2026 transfer class. The move gives Tennessee another high-end scorer entering Barnes’ 12th season.

Harris Elevates Tennessee

Harris arrives with a clear statistical ceiling. He averaged 21.4 points, 6.5 rebounds and 35.2 minutes per game in the 2025-26 season, then earned All-ACC Second Team honors and ACC Most Improved Player recognition after starting all 35 games.

That leap matters because it followed a much quieter first year at Wake Forest. As a freshman in the 2024-25 season, he averaged 6.1 points, 2.8 assists and 19 minutes per game before turning into one of the top names in the transfer portal.

Wake Forest To Knoxville

The path is easy to trace. Harris was a four-star prospect in Wake Forest’s 2024 recruiting class, came from Salisbury High School in Salisbury, North Carolina, and is listed at 6-foot-7 and 200 pounds. Tennessee now gets the version that produced at a much higher level as a sophomore, not the recruit who was still building into his role.

Joe Tipton of On3 reported the commitment, but the on-court numbers tell the fuller story. Tennessee is adding a player who played nearly 35 minutes a night, carried a heavier scoring load, and kept that production steady across a full season rather than in a short burst.

Barnes Gets Another Piece

The addition fits a program that has stayed in the tournament picture. Tennessee advanced to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 in four of the last four years and reached the Elite Eight for three consecutive seasons, and Harris gives Barnes a transfer who has already shown he can handle a primary role.

For Tennessee, the immediate takeaway is simple: the roster just added a proven scorer with top-end transfer portal ranking and recent ACC honors. Harris’s next step is to carry that production into a new system, and Tennessee’s next season will be built around how quickly he fits into it.
