Rangers Manager Dougie Imrie Wants Paul Nsio Back After 40 Games

Rangers manager Dougie Imrie wants Paul Nsio back at Raith Rovers next season after the 20-year-old impressed during his loan spell. Imrie said the ideal move would give the Rangers loanee another run of senior football and keep his development moving after six months in the men’s game.

Imrie Backs Nsio Return

“Yeah, I would like to get him,” Imrie said of Nsio. “It will be up to Rangers to see the progression for Paul.”

He added: “But with his age and just having six months of men’s football, I think the ideal scenario would be for him to come back here and maybe get another 40 games under his belt.”

Nsio was a regular in Raith’s starting XI and, in Imrie’s view, delivered enough to make a return worth pursuing. “Hopefully, we can get something done because Paul has been brilliant over the last three months,” he said.

Raith's Fifth-Place Finish

Raith Rovers ended the Championship season in fifth place, comfortably away from the relegation shake-up and just shy of the Premiership play-offs. That finish gives Imrie’s side a clear reason to keep a player who has already handled a sustained run in the team.

Rangers gave Nsio a two-year deal in September before sending him out on loan, and the club now holds the next move. If another loan deal is agreed, Raith would be banking on the same thing Imrie highlighted: more minutes, more games and another step in the 20-year-old’s senior development.
