Gian Piero Gasperini Lifts Roma Fc With Koné, Dybala Available
Roma fc will have Manu Koné and Paulo Dybala available for Monday’s match against Fiorentina at the Olimpico. Koné has recovered in time and is tipped to return to the starting XI, giving Roma a stronger central midfield for a game tied to Champions League qualification.
Gasperini And Roma Fc
Gian Piero Gasperini said both players will be available on Monday. He said: "Kone has recovered, while Dybala had already made a full recovery last week and played for a part of the game. They have done even better these past few days, so they will both be available on Monday. Friedkin’s presence is a clear sign: the owners are starting to work not only on the end of the season, which is our priority right now, but also on long-term planning."
Dybala could return to the starting XI for the first time since January 25 against Milan. He was expected to start alongside Matías Soulé behind Donyell Malen, while Roma were projected to line up in a 3-4-2-1 formation.
Koné In Central Midfield
Koné was tipped to start in central midfield alongside Bryan Cristante. Niccoló Pisilli was expected to move to the bench because of that return, which gives Roma a clearer selection at a spot that had been altered by absences.
The projected Roma lineup was Svilar; Mancini, Ndicka, Hermoso; Celik, Cristante, Koné, Wesley; Soulé, Dybala; Malen. That shape keeps Roma close to the same attacking structure while restoring two key players at once.
Fiorentina And The Table
Roma still had four matches remaining, and draws by Como and Juventus over the weekend gave them a chance to move up. A win against Fiorentina would move Roma ahead of Como into fifth place and within one point of Juventus for Champions League qualification.
Roma go into Monday with three players unavailable through injury — Lorenzo Pellegrini, Evan Ferguson and Artem Dovbyk — and Neil El Aynaoui ruled out through yellow card suspension. With Koné and Dybala back, the immediate pressure shifts to how Gasperini uses the lineup rather than who is missing from it.
