Saka assisted Viktor Gyökeres for the opening goal in the ninth minute, then scored Arsenal’s second himself before starting the move for the third. He did not reappear for the second half, but the damage was already done by the interval.

Gyökeres completed the first-half surge with Arsenal’s third goal and his 21st of the season in all competitions. That early three-goal cushion gave Arsenal the kind of league win they had not managed comfortably since beating Tottenham 4-1 on 21 February.

Fulham had one of their clearest chances to stay in touch after Riccardo Calafiori had a goal ruled out for offside in the 27th minute, but Arsenal kept pushing.
