Byron Allen seals long-term YouTube TV deal for The Weather Channel

byron allen locked in a long-term YouTube TV deal that keeps The Weather Channel and five other Allen Media Group channels on the service. The agreement avoids another removal after last year’s disputes with major providers cut channels from YouTube TV.

Nearly two decades after Allen Media Group first began in different forms and under different names, The Weather Channel remains one of its most popular offerings. For YouTube TV, the deal protects a lineup that had already been pressured by carriage fights and a monthly price that started at $35 and now reaches as high as $83 for some subscribers.

The Weather Channel stays put

The agreement keeps The Weather Channel on YouTube TV and also secures Cars.TV, Pets.TV, Comedy.TV, Recipe.TV, and Justice Central. That gives subscribers continued access to the full bundle of Allen Media Group properties named in the deal, instead of watching another familiar channel disappear from the service.

Allen Media Group channels retained

The channel list matters because YouTube TV has already shown it will lose programming when talks break down. Last year’s failed content deals with major providers, including Disney, ended with channels being removed from the service, and this arrangement moves the company in the opposite direction.

In 2026, streaming services are dominating, and carriage stability is part of the business. A long-term agreement keeps Allen Media Group in front of YouTube TV subscribers and gives the service one less reason to deal with another blackout conversation.

YouTube TV’s price pressure

The pricing backdrop is hard to miss: YouTube TV’s starting price was $35 per month, but some subscribers now pay as much as $83. With bills already climbing, keeping The Weather Channel and the other Allen Media Group channels on the lineup is the cleanest win in the deal for customers who do not want another round of channel removals.
