Manchester United Plan £150m Three-Midfielder Overhaul as Casemiro Replacement Manchester United

Manchester United’s casemiro replacement manchester united plan is now the summer priority, with three midfield signings on the agenda and Casemiro set to depart. With three games left and Champions League qualification wrapped up, the club can turn its focus to a rebuild after spending heavily on attackers last summer.

That rebuild is being aimed at a £150m outlay for three players in midfield. Ederson of Atalanta is firmly on the club’s radar, while Sandro Tonali, Elliot Anderson and Carlos Baleba are among the Premier League stars linked with the move.

Casemiro and United’s midfield reset

Casemiro’s exit gives the plan its shape. Manchester United are looking at three additions in the same area of the pitch rather than a single stopgap, and midfield is almost certainly the priority because one of the current senior options is on the way out.

Peter Schmeichel went further and set out the profile he wants to see. “I make my case, we are going to build a team around Kobbie [Mainoo]. Casemiro is leaving. Bring in [Adam] Wharton and [Elliot] Anderson or whatever, who are still young,” he said.

Ederson, Tonali and Baleba

Ederson is the clearest named target in the list. The Atalanta midfielder is firmly on United’s radar, and the club’s interest in Tonali, Anderson and Baleba shows the search is not limited to one style of player or one league.

The mix of names points to a broad recruitment push rather than a single big bet. United spent big on attackers last summer, but the next window is shaping up around the middle of the pitch instead, with three new signings being lined up for the summer.

Schmeichel and Scholes

Schmeichel also argued for a more experienced option in the same debate. “I think we should go and sign Xhaka,” he said, before adding, “His leadership qualities are great, he can play 80 per cent of the games, and he is a very good player.” He also said, “What we don't have really is proper leadership.”

Paul Scholes pushed back on that idea. “Noooo Pete.” he said, then added, “I have [watched him], but you're probably in the same boat as Casemiro then, aren't you, really?” Schmeichel replied that “We're desperate for more leadership.”

The summer window now carries a clear brief: replace Casemiro, add three midfielders and keep the squad moving after Champions League qualification. United still have three games left, but the recruitment work is already set around the midfield rebuild.
