Netflix Sets One Piece Remake for February 2027

Netflix says the one piece remake will premiere in February 2027, putting a short-form anime reboot on the calendar after a long development stretch. The first season is built as seven episodes, a structure that points to a compressed run rather than a sprawling reset of the franchise.

That first season will run roughly 300 minutes and cover approximately the first 50 chapters, ending at Luffy’s encounter with Sanji, the sous chef of the floating restaurant Baratie. For viewers, the key takeaway is simple: this version is not trying to sprawl across the whole manga at once; it is moving through the East Blue material with a tight endpoint.

Windmill Village First Look

Netflix also released concept art set in Windmill Village, where Monkey D. Luffy appears at PARTYS BAR with Shanks, Benn Beckman, and Makino. The company said, “Rendered with a warm and gentle touch, the visual shows Shanks smiling at Luffy's boundless energy, while Makino's expression and the cozy atmosphere of the bar hint at the unexpected kindness of the Red-Hair Pirates, despite their fearsome reputation.”

It added, “It is a snapshot of a precious moment in Windmill Village — the place where Luffy's great adventure begins.” That detail matters because the remake is starting with a very specific origin point, not a broad greatest-hits pass, and the image signals how closely the series is leaning into the manga’s earliest emotional beat.

Seven Episodes, 50 Chapters

Seven episodes is a restrained order for a property with this much material, and the roughly 300-minute runtime makes the adaptation math visible. With approximately the first 50 chapters packed into that span, each installment has to carry more narrative load than a standard long-season series.

The scope also sets up a practical expectation for where the season lands: Luffy reaches Sanji, not the larger story beats that come later. That gives the remake a clean stopping point and keeps the early rollout focused on the opening stretch of the manga rather than trying to cover every corner of the franchise at once.

2027 for Two One Piece Series

Season 3 of Netflix’s live-action One Piece adaptation is officially titled One Piece: The Battle of Alabasta and will also be released in 2027. Its official logline says a rebellion threatens the desert kingdom of Alabasta, Princess Vivi is from Alabasta, Sir Crocodile is one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, and Baroque Works is his underground syndicate.

For now, the anime remake has the cleaner commercial lane: a February 2027 debut, a seven-episode first season, and a clear origin story built around Windmill Village. If the goal is to give viewers a compact entry point, this is the right call.
