Daniss Jenkins Buries Buzzer-Beater in Pistons' 116-94 Game 7 Win

daniss jenkins hit a buzzer-beating 3-pointer Sunday and the Detroit Pistons rolled past the Orlando Magic 116-94 in Game 7. The shot pushed Detroit to an 83-64 lead going into the fourth quarter and capped the franchise’s first postseason series win in 18 years.

Jenkins Lands The Final Shot

Jenkins’ basket came at the end of a half in which Detroit seized control and never gave it back. The Pistons built their lead behind a 32-point, 12-assist night from Cade Cunningham and 30 points from Tobias Harris, then finished with Jalen Duren adding 15 points and 15 rebounds.

The margin became the story early in the second half. Detroit kept extending the gap, and Jenkins’ buzzer-beater turned an already firm hold on the game into an 83-64 cushion entering the fourth quarter.

Detroit’s Scoring Pressure

Orlando could not keep pace. The Magic scored only 113 points in the final six quarters of the series, and they finished the third quarter of Game 7 with 15 points.

That drop helped Detroit turn a deciding game into a runaway. The Pistons became the 15th team in NBA history to overcome a 3-1 deficit, and they did it after losing Game 6 in Orlando by 24 points before rallying back to close the series.

Cunningham And Harris Make History

Cunningham and Harris also gave Detroit a rare scoring pairing. They became the first Pistons teammates to score 30 points in a playoff game since Bob Lanier and Howard Porter did it against the Golden State Warriors on April 17, 1977.

Cunningham said after the win, “We were pushed to the limit,” and added, “We really bonded this season,” while describing a group that “We think we can do anything.” J.B. Bickerstaff called it “This is a special group.”

Little Caesars Arena Awaits

Detroit now moves on to play the winner of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Toronto Raptors Game 7, with Game 1 set for Tuesday at Little Caesars Arena. The Pistons entered this finish already carrying the weight of a 3-1 deficit, and they answered it with one of the franchise’s most complete playoff wins in years.
