Benjamin Bortmans says Blackpink Jisoo dispute is being resolved

Benjamin Bortmans says the blackpink clothing dispute over Jisoo’s album photo shoot is moving toward a resolution after he spent more than six months trying to get the garments back. The founder of Belgian label Judassime said Wednesday that he had heard “that everything is being solved.”

Six months ago, Bortmans said he sent multiple pieces for Jisoo’s album cover project, and he later said several of them stayed out of the brand’s hands for over six months. He described the missing items as important archive pieces and said some were extremely expensive, which turned a wardrobe loan into a public dispute over inventory and communication.

Bortmans and Judassime

Bortmans said the problem escalated because repeated attempts to reach those involved did not produce a return. The brand’s official social media account tagged Jisoo’s account in posts demanding the garments, and Bortmans said he had already sent invoices and contracts in preparation for possible legal action.

He also said the dispute was never meant as a personal attack on the singer. “I never attacked Jisoo.... I put her name in the title of the video to have a response from her team.”

Wednesday follow-up video

In the follow-up video posted Wednesday, Bortmans said he had received news that arrangements would be made to retrieve the items. He added, “I used her name because it was a part of the shoot and her name was everywhere in all the emails and documents.”

His sharper complaint was about the silence around the loan, which he called “terrible.” That leaves the practical issue in a narrower place now: the garments are supposed to be on their way back, and Judassime can start closing out the invoices, contracts, and inventory damage that came with keeping archive pieces off the rack for months.

Jisoo agency response

Jisoo’s agency was not available for comment as of press time. Bortmans, for his part, said, “I love everything she does and what she stands for.”
