Xbox to air Stranger Than Heaven showcase for 30 minutes on May 6
Xbox will air stranger than heaven in a 30-minute showcase on Wednesday, May 6, giving the game its most substantial look yet. The presentation is set for 4pm Pacific and 7pm Eastern, with a UK start time of 12am on May 7.
The event, titled Xbox Presents: A Special Look at Stranger Than Heaven, will dig into the game’s story, world, characters and more. That is the clearest sign yet that Xbox is using a focused pre-launch slot to frame the project beyond the quick reveal it received in March at Xbox Partner Preview.
RGG Studio's five-era setup
Stranger Than Heaven is an entirely new action-adventure game from RGG Studio, and the pitch is unusually broad: five distinct eras of modern Japan, five entirely separate cities, and a 50-year story. A 30-minute showcase is long enough to move past surface-level footage and into the structure of a game built around that span.
Xbox Wire said, "Xbox Presents: A Special Look at Stranger Than Heaven will bring us inside the minds behind the game, offering around 30 minutes of details and insights on the game’s story, world, characters and more, from the developers and cast bringing us this hugely ambitious new title."
How to watch the show
The full show will be available in Japanese on the Xbox Japan YouTube channel, while the Xbox YouTube channel will carry an English audio description version. During the live show, subtitle support will be available in Simplified Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish (Castilian), and Spanish (Mexican).
Following the show, additional subtitle support will be added for Arabic, Traditional Chinese, Filipino, French (Canadian), Hindi, Indonesian, Malay, Māori, Persian (Farsi), Russian, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese. The recap will go up immediately after the presentation ends.
Xbox Series X|S and Game Pass
Stranger Than Heaven is coming soon to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, and Xbox Cloud, and it will be an Xbox Play Anywhere title. It will also be available with Xbox Game Pass, giving the showcase a direct sales-and-subscription angle as much as a creative one.
For viewers, the practical move is simple: plan around 4pm Pacific, 7pm Eastern, or 12am UK time on May 7 if they want the live reveal, then watch for the immediate recap if they only need the key details. Xbox is treating this as the first full pass at a game that still has plenty to explain.
