Capcom Adds Leon Must Die Forever in Resident Evil Requiem 1.300

Capcom pushed Resident Evil Requiem update 1.300 today, and the 2.1 GB PS5 patch adds the free leon must die forever mode to Extra Games. The mode is unlocked after players finish the main story, giving completed saves a new post-game target instead of a one-and-done run.

Leon S. Kennedy returns

“Grace made it home safely, but Leon still has work to do. Use his enhanced abilities to complete this minigame as fast as possible.” That is the pitch for the new mode, which puts Leon S. Kennedy back into nonstop combat action and sends players through areas they have already visited, then into the final boss.

The mode also leans on a clear score-chasing structure. Players fill an enhancement gauge by defeating enemies, unlock Leon’s enhancer abilities inside this mode, and then try to clear the run against the clock while moving through five increasingly difficulty ranks. For players who already beat the campaign, that makes the update a free replay loop rather than simple bonus content.

Extra Games and replay value

The full overview from the developers says leon must die forever is “an extra game mode that is unlocked after players complete the main story and comes packed with the nonstop combat action that players know and love from legendary agent Leon S. Kennedy. Fight your way through areas you’ve visited previously throughout the game and defeat the final boss, all with stronger enemy variants, five increasingly difficulty ranks, and a race against the clock! Fill your enhancement gauge by defeating enemies in order to unlock Leon’s “enhancer abilities” exclusive to this game mode.”

The update landed as a shadowdrop, so players did not have a long runway to prepare for it. Capcom also has a premium story DLC in development for Resident Evil Requiem, which leaves this free mode as the immediate post-launch addition for anyone who has already cleared the campaign and wants another pass through the game’s combat spaces.

For now, the practical step is simple: finish the main story, open Extra Games, and load leon must die forever. The mode is built for players who want a faster, harsher replay with Leon’s exclusive abilities, not for anyone looking for a separate story beat.
