England election totals
Local elections in England cover more than 5,000 seats across 136 local authorities and six mayoral races. In this count, seventeen elections have been taking place across Hampshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire and the Isle of Wight, leaving several councils with changed control and others without a majority.
For residents and councillors in those areas, the immediate effect is settled control in places like Wokingham, Portsmouth and Eastleigh, alongside continuing no overall control in councils where no party has a majority. The remaining counts will determine how many more councils end up with outright control and how many stay in hung arrangements.
