Bertaud Holds No. 1 As Forge Fc Drops To €450,000
Forge FC goalkeeper Dimitry Bertaud stayed the Canadian Premier League’s most valuable player after Transfermarkt updated market values for 167 players. His figure fell from €900,000 to €450,000, but the gap at the top did not close.
Bertaud Stays Top At Forge Fc
Transfermarkt said, "With the season now in full swing, Transfermarkt has updated the market values of 167 Canadian Premier League players." It also said, "the most valuable player at the very top remains Forge FC goalkeeper Dimitry Bertaud."
Bertaud arrived at Forge FC ahead of this season after his contract with Ligue 1 side Montpellier expired last July. The drop leaves him at half his previous valuation, yet he still sits above every other player in the league.
Ottawa And Toronto Valuations
Atlético Ottawa midfielder Jonantán Villal moved to €300,000 after a €50,000 drop. He had no goal and no assist in his first four games for Ottawa, and the club had four points from its first five games.
Forge FC defender Antoine Batisse also moved down, from €400,000 to €250,000. Inter Toronto defender Raúl López dropped from €500,000 to €200,000 at age 33, while Villal’s move came from sister club Atlético de San Luis on loan.
Jimoh Joins The Third Tier
Inter Toronto’s Shola Jimoh posted one of the clearer gains in the update, rising by €75,000 to €250,000. Transfermarkt said, "In Jimoh’s case, the upgrade means that the 18-year-old now belongs to a group of players who share the third-highest market value in the league."
Elsewhere, HFX Wanderers’ Tavio Ciccarelli rose 300% to €100,000, Vancouver FC’s Emrick Fotsing climbed by €50,000 to €200,000, and Atlético Ottawa’s Sergey Kozlovskiy also rose by €50,000 to €200,000. The update leaves Forge FC with the league’s top-valued player, even after the sharpest cut in Bertaud’s market worth.
