Delta Police Report Motorcycle Accident Today on Scott Road

Delta Police Department said a motorcycle accident today on Scott Road at 71st Avenue sent one rider to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries after a collision with a vehicle on Saturday afternoon.

The driver of the vehicle was uninjured. Scott Road was closed between 72nd and 70th avenues while emergency crews cleared the vehicles and debris from the roadway.

The crash happened at a busy point on Scott Road in Delta, at 71st Avenue, and left the motorcycle rider needing hospital care. The closure covered the stretch between 72nd and 70th avenues, the section drivers had to avoid while the scene was being cleared.

The Delta Police Department provided the information from the crash scene. The rider’s injuries were serious but not life-threatening, while the vehicle driver was not hurt, leaving the collision with one person taken to hospital and one person able to walk away without injury.

For people driving through the area, the practical change was the road closure between 72nd and 70th avenues until emergency crews removed the vehicles and debris. That left Scott Road unavailable through that corridor during the cleanup and made the crash a direct traffic problem as well as an injury call.
