Franklin High School lockdown follows reported bomb threat, police say
Franklin High School was placed on lockdown Monday morning after a reported bomb threat, according to the Franklin Police Department. The lockdown came as at least two Tennessee high schools faced threats the same morning.
Police said a second bomb threat forced Page High School into lockdown along with Franklin High School. Page Middle School was also locked down because of its proximity to Page High School.
Franklin Police Department
The Franklin Police Department tied the first lockdown to Franklin High School and the second to Page High School. That left two schools in separate parts of the response under lockdown from the same morning’s threats.
The report also placed Page Middle School under lockdown because it sits near Page High School. For families tied to those campuses, the practical effect was a wider perimeter than one school building alone.
Tennessee school threats
The Franklin lockdowns were part of a broader set of reported bomb threats at high schools across Tennessee on Monday morning. WSMV also reported lockdowns at Smyrna High School, La Vergne High School, Holloway High School, Antioch High School and Jackson Central-Merry.
At the time of the report, no other information had been released. For people connected to Franklin High School, Page High School and Page Middle School, the lockdowns remained the immediate change while police handled the threat reports.
