Jake Paul Faces Uncertain Return After Five-Month Jaw Recovery — Boxing News
Jake Paul’s boxing news turned into a recovery watch five months after Anthony Joshua broke his jaw. He said he is getting new scans in a couple of days, and the results may decide whether he can fight again.
Jake Paul Jaw Scans
Paul said the scans are meant to update him on how the bone is healing. He also said he needs to be cleared before he can spar, which keeps his return tied to the medical review rather than any fight date.
“I’m getting some new scans here in a couple of days of the jaw to get an update on the healing process,” he said. “We’ll see what my doctors say. I think I’ll be able to get more accurate timeframe or can I even fight again? That is definitely in the realm of possibilities of things.”
Anthony Joshua Injury Fallout
The injury has already changed the way Paul talks about his future in boxing. He said there is “definitely” a chance he cannot fight again, and that the result depends on how the bone heals.
Paul said his jaw feels a lot better as the weeks go by, but he also said there is still a missing tooth and he expects to need an implanted tooth of some sort. That leaves the physical recovery unfinished even as the pain eases.
Arman And The Return Question
Paul said his doctor Arman does not want him to fight again. He also said some people in his life have told him he does not need to keep boxing, while his fiancée understands both his drive to compete and the idea that he can walk away from it.
“Those thoughts have definitely come up but I’m not done,” he said. “Most definitely [a chance I can’t fight again],” he added when asked about the possibility. For now, the next hard checkpoint is the scan in a couple of days, and the answer it brings will determine whether Paul moves toward sparring or stays on the sideline.
