Jon Bernthal Brings The Punisher One Last Kill to Disney+ Tuesday
The punisher one last kill arrives on Disney+ on Tuesday 12th May at 6pm PT and 9pm ET in the US. Jon Bernthal returns as Frank Castle, and this is a one-off Marvel Studios Special Presentation rather than the start of a new run.
Frank Castle’s New York return
The special drops Frank Castle back onto the streets of New York City one week after the season 2 finale of Daredevil: Born Again. He was last seen breaking out of Mayor Wilson Fisk’s prison for vigilantes, after being notably absent from the fightback against Kingpin.
Sana Amanat said the special will explain part of the gap in Frank’s story. “We will explore a little bit of where Frank has been, but I can't say anything more than that.”

Amanat added, “He has his own journey, and he will stay true to that journey, and ultimately that's what this is supposed to be.” That keeps the special centered on Castle rather than turning him into a supporting player in a larger crossover. A recent trailer also showed the character moving through flashbacks to the grief that pushed him onto this path.
The format is the main twist here. Marvel Studios is treating The Punisher: One Last Kill as a single special, so there will not be any further episodes after launch day.
One-off Marvel release
That makes Tuesday’s drop a self-contained watch, not a weekly rollout. Bernthal is also due back as Frank Castle in Spider-Man: Brand New Day this summer, while the Netflix-era The Punisher series remains two seasons long across 26 episodes. UK viewers get the special on Wednesday 13th May at 2am BST, and it is available to stream on Disney+ UK from Wednesday 13th May 2026.
For viewers, the practical move is simple: if they want the full Frank Castle thread, this is the entry point Marvel is using right now, and it will not stretch beyond the release window. The value is in the access to Castle’s missing time, not in waiting for later episodes that are not coming.
