Craig Erwich Leads Abc Fall 2026 Schedule With The Rookie: North

ABC’s abc fall 2026 schedule adds The Rookie: North to its midseason lineup and pushes several returning series into 2027. The network said on May 12, 2026, that it renewed its entire scripted lineup for the first time in its history, a rare level of continuity for a broadcast slate.

Craig Erwich and the 2026-2027 slate

Craig Erwich, president of Disney Television Group, said, “We enter this fall season from a position of undeniable strength.” He added, “Our focus has always been simple: Make the best shows on television and get them to audiences however they want to watch.”

That approach now runs through the schedule itself. said new seasons of The Bachelor, Bachelor in Paradise, High Potential, Shifting Gears, The Rookie and Will Trent will debut in 2027, while all episodes will be available to stream the next day on Hulu. The network also said its original scripted slate will increase in midseason for the second year in a row.

The Rookie: North joins midseason

The Rookie: North expands the franchise with Alex Holland, who joins the Pierce County Police Department as a rookie after a violent home invasion ignites a dormant purpose. Jay Ellis, Janet Montgomery, Karen Fukuhara, Chris Sullivan, Froy Gutierrez, Mya Lowe and Malik Watson star in the series.

ABC’s move gives the franchise a new entry while keeping the rest of the scripted bench intact for 2027. The same schedule lists America’s Funniest Home Videos at 7:00 p.m., and fall premiere dates will be announced later, so the network is setting the frame now and holding the exact launch dates back for later.

Hulu and 2027 rollout

Erwich also said, “That strategy continues to drive the success of ABC and Hulu — from legacy hits being embraced by new generations to breakout series becoming the next cultural touchstones.” He added, “With a standout slate of comedies, dramas, unscripted and live programming, alongside marquee events like the Super Bowl, the College Football Playoff, the GRAMMYS and the Oscars in 2027, our content engine is firing on all cylinders.”

The clean read for viewers is simple: ABC is not using fall 2026 as a reset, but as a bridge to a bigger 2027 rollout. The network has already made the unusual choice to renew its entire scripted lineup, and The Rookie: North is the clearest sign that it wants the midseason window to carry that momentum forward.
