Rosario Dawson Puts Ahsoka Season 2 Disney+ on Early 2027 Track
Rosario Dawson said ahsoka season 2 disney+ will arrive in early 2027, giving the series a return window after the Season 1 finale aired in October 2023. The timing keeps the show on Disney’s board for a year that already stretches its Star Wars slate.
“This season, the battles are bigger and the stakes are higher,” Dawson said during Disney’s upfront presentation on Tuesday. Disney also showed a sneak peek featuring creator Dave Filoni and cast members discussing how the new episodes are being made.
October 2023 and the Peridea split
Season 1 ended with Grand Admiral Thrawn making the jump to hyperspace via a space loop, while Ezra stowed away during the jump. Ahsoka and Sabine were left marooned on Peridea, which is the main reason this return date now matters to anyone tracking where the story picks back up.
That ending also left several of the show’s biggest pieces separated rather than reset in place. The early 2027 window tells viewers the next round of answers is still a long way off, and it gives Disney a firmer schedule for one of its marquee live-action Star Wars series.
Hayden Christensen and Rory McCann
Hayden Christensen is coming back as Anakin Skywalker, and Rory McCann is stepping in as Baylan Skol after the death of Ray Stevenson. Dave Filoni said Baylan Skol is going head-to-head with Thrawn, a matchup that keeps the season’s central conflict pointed at the same power struggle teased at the end of Season 1.
Admiral Ackbar is also returning. For viewers, the practical takeaway is simple: the cast is back on the board, the story threads from October 2023 are still live, and Disney has now put a real release window on when those threads start moving again.
