36 doctors sound Alarm over Trump mental decline
Thirty-six medical professionals sounded alarm over Donald Trump’s mental state and said the 79-year-old president should be removed from office with the greatest urgency. In a statement, they said his behavior reflects a rapidly worsening decline and urged that the 25th Amendment be invoked.
The group said Trump has access to more than 5,000 nuclear warheads at the ready to launch on his order. They said they have not examined him face-to-face, but have followed his statements and behavior over the past year.
Trump statements and behavior
In their statement, the experts said Trump’s conduct is not a matter of momentary lapses or political theater. They described disorganized and tangential speech, rambling digressions, factual confusions, unexplained sudden changes of course in strategic matters, and episodes of apparent somnolence during critical public proceedings.
They also cited posts on Truth Social that showed him as the pope and as a combat pilot. The group said his social media use has included what they called “seemingly compulsive, manic-like late-night communications” of as many as 150 posts in one night.
2024 statement on Trump
The experts said Trump’s mental state has deteriorated further since their 2024 statement. They wrote, “It is our professional opinion, based on previous and ongoing assessments, that Donald Trump’s mental state since our 2024 statement has deteriorated even further,” and added, “we are compelled to warn of a President of the United States who is increasingly a danger to the public.”
They also pointed to “fixation on perceived enemies, persecutory ideas, and prolonged, disproportionate attacks on specific individuals and institutions.” The group said its warning is based on public statements and behavior over the past year, not on a face-to-face examination.
25th Amendment and nuclear authority
The experts tied their warning to Trump’s nuclear authority, saying the United States has more than 5,000 nuclear warheads ready to launch on his order. That put the call for the 25th Amendment at the center of their statement and made their request one for immediate action, not a future review.
Their concern now rests on the same public record they say they have tracked for a year: a president they describe as increasingly dangerous, a pattern they say has worsened since 2024, and a constitutional mechanism they want invoked because of the office he holds.
