Rockstar Sets Gta 6 Pre Orders Wait for November 19, 2026
Rockstar has set gta 6 pre orders against a November 19, 2026 release date for Grand Theft Auto 6. The extra wait follows two delays, but pre-order details have still not opened as of mid-May.
November 19 and the two delays
The game moved from a Fall 2025 window to May 26, 2026 before landing on Thursday, November 19, 2026. Rockstar said the extra polish time drove the shift, and Take-Two has kept that target in its fiscal guidance.
For players, the important change is simple: the launch date is now fixed, but the buying window is not. That leaves pre-order timing as the part most likely to move when Take-Two next speaks on May 21.
PS5 and Xbox Series X|S
Grand Theft Auto 6 will launch only on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar has named those two consoles as the only launch platforms, and no PC version has been announced.
That console-first rollout fits Rockstar’s pattern with earlier releases, but it also narrows the first wave of demand to current-generation hardware. Anyone waiting to buy early will be watching for a pre-order date, a platform-specific edition, or any change in the company’s launch plan.
Vice City, Lucia, Jason
Rockstar has set the game in the fictional state of Leonida, with Vice City at the center of the world. Its official marketing copy calls Leonida “home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond,” and the main story features dual protagonists named Lucia and Jason.
Rockstar has also acknowledged that an online component will continue with GTA 6, though it has not formally detailed a standalone GTA 6 Online feature set. That keeps the release-date news tied to a bigger commercial question: how quickly the company turns a fixed launch date into a sales push.
