Matthew English and Joe Greenwood Return for Huddersfield Giants

Huddersfield Giants have named Matthew English and Joe Greenwood for their 2026 Super League match against St. Helens after both were passed fit. Lee Kershaw could also make his debut, giving Huddersfield a better option set as they try to end a three-match losing run.

English and Greenwood Return

English is back in the squad after being passed fit, and Greenwood has done the same. For Huddersfield, that is the main personnel lift before a home fixture that comes after three straight defeats and 120 points conceded across those losses.

The timing matters because Huddersfield have been carrying a thin margin for error. Adding two available forwards changes the shape of the squad immediately, especially with Kershaw also available for selection in the same game.

St. Helens Add Three

St. Helens arrive with their own changes. Noah Stephens is out because of a head injury, while Matty Lees is absent through injury and Nene MacDonald also misses out.

Alfie Sinclair, Kyle Feldt and Curtis Sironen come into the squad. That gives St. Helens fresh names after they returned to Super League action following last weekend’s Challenge Cup semi-final defeat to Wigan Warriors.

Huddersfield Need A Response

Huddersfield’s recent numbers are hard to ignore: three losses in a row and 120 points shipped in that spell. The match against St. Helens now offers a direct test of whether the squad changes can steady a side that has been conceding at 40 points per fixture over those three games.

St. Helens are the betting tip to win, but the more immediate story for Huddersfield is availability. English and Greenwood are back, Kershaw is in the frame, and the Giants now have to turn that restored depth into something sharper on match day.
