Dorofeyev Wins In OT, Golden Knights – Ducks Lead 3-2

Pavel Dorofeyev scored at 4:10 of overtime to lift the golden knights – ducks matchup into a 3-2 Vegas win Tuesday night and give the Golden Knights a 3-2 series lead. The goal sent Vegas home with a chance to close out the second-round series in Game 6.

Dorofeyev’s second goal

Dorofeyev had already scored once on the power play before ending it in overtime. He took a hard shot off his right knee in the second period and left the ice for a few minutes, then returned and finished the game with the winner.

That sequence gave Vegas the most important two goals of the night from one winger. He also finished through the pain after describing the play afterward by saying, "I just blocked a shot," and, "It’s kind of a (lousy) part of my job, but it hurts more when I miss it. I just had to get myself together and get back on the ice."

Tomas Hertl and Carter Hart

Tomas Hertl added a rebound goal at 4:48 in the third period after going 29 games, including the regular season, without scoring. Jack Eichel set up two goals, and Carter Hart stopped 34 shots for Vegas.

Vegas needed that support because Anaheim kept answering. Olen Zellweger tied the game at 2 with 3:05 left in regulation for his first career playoff goal, while Beckett Sennecke stretched his goals streak to four games with a power-play marker. Mason McTavish and Cutter Gauthier each had two assists, and Lukas Dostal made 29 saves for the Ducks.

Game 6 in Anaheim

The series now shifts to Anaheim for Game 6 on Thursday night. If the Ducks win, Game 7 would go back to Las Vegas on Saturday, but Vegas can reach the conference final for the first time since winning the Stanley Cup in 2023 with one more victory.

There was already bite in the game before overtime. Brayden McNabb received a five-minute major for interference and a game misconduct after checking Ryan Poehling hard into the boards nearly midway through the first period, and Poehling was helped off the ice.
