Charlie West Leads Four Changes Before Swans Vs Collingwood
swans vs collingwood now has a fresh selection twist, with Charlie West named for his first AFL game of 2026 as Collingwood announced four inclusions for Friday night at the SCG. The changes reshape a side already dealing with concussion and a managed veteran, and they put the 194cm forward back in the senior frame after strong VFL form.
West Back After 16 Goals
West has kicked 16 goals from six VFL appearances this season and sits fifth in the second-tier competition for goals. His second AFL match will come after his debut last year in Collingwood’s Round 16 win over the West Coast Eagles, when he also kicked his first AFL goal.
That return gives Collingwood another tall target in a forward group that needed one. West’s selection is the headline change among the four inclusions, and it comes with the club facing Sydney on Friday 15 May at 7:30pm AEST.
Hayes, Parker And Allan Return
Will Hayes is back in the senior side after being omitted for last week’s clash with Geelong, and Friday night will be his fifth match of 2026. Wil Parker was selected for his fourth AFL game of the season, while Ed Allan was named for his fifth.
Those additions give Collingwood depth in different parts of the ground, but the outs are just as significant. Darcy Moore will miss the clash with concussion, Patrick Lipinski will also miss with concussion, and Darcy Cameron was omitted after sustaining a knock to his ankle against Geelong.
Pendlebury, Emergencies And The Guernsey
Scott Pendlebury will be managed for Friday night, with his record-breaking match set for Round 11’s Saturday afternoon clash with the West Coast Eagles at the MCG. Collingwood will also use the fixture to mark 2026 Sir Doug Nicholls Round in a guernsey designed by 11-year-old Noongar Yamatji artist Jed Bennell and inspired by the story of Bobby Hill.
Harvey Harrison, Tew Jiath and Jakob Ryan are the emergencies for the SCG match. The team list leaves Collingwood with four inclusions heading into a short turnaround, and West’s recall is the clearest sign of where the club wants its next forward option to come from.
