National Highways issues M54 Closure on A41 diversion

National Highways put a m54 closure in place eastbound between junction 3 in Albrighton and junction 2 in Wolverhampton after a car left the road. The eastbound carriageway was due to stay shut for several hours while crash investigation work took place.

The closed stretch runs from junction 3 to junction 2, covering part of the eastbound M54 between Shropshire and Wolverhampton. That means drivers heading that way are being taken off the motorway before the closure point.

National Highways said the diversion was marked with solid square symbols and sent traffic via the A41, A5 and A449. Those are the roads drivers now need to follow until the motorway reopens.
