Latrell Mitchell Cleared for Magic Round Return in Twal Injury Update
Latrell Mitchell has been cleared to play for South Sydney on Friday night in Magic Round after recovering from a back injury, giving the Rabbitohs their centre for the twal injury update against the Dolphins at Suncorp Stadium. Wayne Bennett said Mitchell had met the protocols and wanted to play.
Mitchell Returns For Friday Night
Mitchell will not take conversions against the Dolphins, with Bayleigh Bentley-Hape and Ashton Ward the likely goal-kicking replacements. That leaves South Sydney with their biggest late change settled before the 8.00pm AEST kick-off.
Francis Molo Out For Dolphins
The Dolphins also changed their pack when Francis Molo was ruled out with a minor ankle injury. Felise Kaufusi came into the team, and Molo is expected to miss one week as a precaution.
Wayne Bennett said, "Latrell is fit to play. He has met all the protocols, feels good and wants to play". South Sydney get a full-strength boost at the centre spot, while the Dolphins lose a front-row option they had planned to use in Round 11.
Simi Sasagi's Recovery Window
The wider Magic Round late mail also included Simi Sasagi, who will miss four to six weeks after injuring his shoulder against the Panthers in Round 10. Canberra said he has no structural damage and does not need surgery, which narrows the setback to a recovery timeline rather than a longer-term absence.
