Alice Tentye Leads SANFLW Loss in 92-Point Wafl State Game
The SANFLW State Team was beaten by 92 points in the wafl state game at Sullivan Logistics Oval in Perth, a result that snapped its winning run in the rivalry with WAFLW. After winning the previous two meetings, the Croweaters were outbodied and outscored from the opening quarter and never recovered.
Alice Tentye Keeps Working
Alice Tentye led the SANFLW effort with 22 disposals, four tackles and two marks, and she was named Best on Ground for the visitors. Her numbers stood out in a side that spent most of the afternoon under pressure and chasing the game.
Mel Anderson provided the only SANFLW goal, and it came in the final term as her team searched for a late response. The SANFLW did not get its first major score of the day until that point, leaving the scoreboard picture largely settled long before the final siren.
WAFLW Builds the Margin
WAFLW took control early, opening up a 23-point lead in the first quarter and stretching that advantage to 47 points by half-time. Poppy Stockwell finished with four goals, Lucy Greenwood added three and Krstel Petrevski kicked two, while Holly Britton, Courtney Lindergen, Isabella Shannon and Makaela Tuhakaraina also joined the goal kickers.
The WAFLW side created space across the ground and used it well, turning field position into a one-sided result. For SANFLW, the practical takeaway is plain: the state team will carry a heavy loss from Perth, but Tentye’s work rate, Zoe Venning’s six tackles, Tiffany King’s six rebound 50s and debutant Isla Wiencke’s 15 disposals and six tackles offered the few positives in a game where the margin kept growing.
