Torrie Lemon sentenced to four years, including 40 days in custody

Torrie Lemon was sentenced Thursday to four years after pleading guilty to child seduction involving a 17-year-old student. Court records show the former Indiana private school teacher must serve 40 days in jail or prison, then 1,420 days of probation.

Colonial Christian School case

Lemon, 24, was a former kindergarten teacher at Colonial Christian School. Prosecutors said the relationship came to light during a 2025 school trip after another student discovered explicit text messages on the teen’s cellphone, and authorities later said the material was uncovered in April during a trip to South Carolina.

According to court records, Lemon admitted to the allegations during a police interview. She told authorities, “I was having an inappropriate relationship with a student from our school,” and police recovered text messages allegedly sent to the student.

Messages and trip discovery

One recovered message read, “I love you more than I can describe. I love my girl.” The victim told investigators the relationship dated back to January 2025, saying she and Lemon began spending time together and making sexual jokes before they kissed during a school field trip.

Court documents also said the victim told investigators the pair had sex at Lemon’s apartment, which was located on school grounds. The girl’s father told investigators his daughter began asking questions about Indiana’s age-of-consent laws after meeting the teacher, and said he knew she had “kissed, hugged and cuddled” Lemon.

Hamilton and Marion counties

Lemon was later charged in both Hamilton County and Marion County. The father said he did not report the relationship because he feared jeopardizing the teacher’s career, while Lemon allegedly told investigators the victim’s mother suspected “there was more to their relationship” than friendship.

The sentence leaves Lemon facing both custody and probation after the guilty plea, with the court records laying out the immediate punishment and the longer supervision period that follows.
