Harry Milne backs Hearts to beat Falkirk and seal title

harry milne comes into focus with Hearts on the edge of a title and Paulo Sergio backing them to finish the job. The former manager said he absolutely believes Derek McInnes' side will beat Falkirk on Wednesday and leave the league race in their hands.

“I absolutely believe Hearts are going to win the league,” Sergio said last night. He added: “I really believe they can beat Falkirk on Wednesday and they will win the league.”

Sergio and Hearts at Tynecastle

Hearts can clinch the title at Tynecastle if they beat Falkirk and Celtic lose to Motherwell. Sergio said the club are “a step in front of Celtic and it’s still in their hands,” while also saying he would never write off Celtic.

The title race has narrowed to two results on the same night, with Hearts needing to do their part against Falkirk and then wait on Celtic's meeting with Motherwell. Sergio's view carries weight at Tynecastle: he is remembered for steering Hearts to a 5-1 win over Hibs in the 2012 Scottish Cup final.

Derek McInnes and Celtic

McInnes' side are battling Celtic for the title, and Sergio said he could see how much Hearts want it. The pressure now sits on both fixtures, with Hearts needing a win and Celtic needing to drop points for the crown to move to Tynecastle.

That leaves Wednesday as the decisive night for Hearts supporters. Beat Falkirk, and the door opens; if Celtic also slip against Motherwell, the league can be settled without Hearts waiting any longer.
