Rot-Weiss Essen took third place in bundesliga 2 on the final day after a stoppage-time winner flipped the promotion playoff spot their way. MSV Duisburg dropped to fourth after drawing at home with Viktoria Köln, while F.C. Hansa Rostock finished fifth.
