Jamie Fraser Dies and Returns in Outlander Finale — Glasgow Live
glasgow live reports that the Outlander finale, titled And the World Was All Around Us, shows Jamie Fraser dying after Ferguson shoots him, then ends with Jamie and Claire alive again. The episode closes after Claire hugs Jamie through the night and into the next morning, before both take a huge breath and are shown alive again.
Jamie and Claire also say goodbye to the family they had cared for and nurtured across the show’s eight seasons. The episode adds a post-credit scene showing Diana Gabaldon at a book signing.
Battle Of Kings Mountain
Jamie writes his last will and testament before heading to the Battle of Kings Mountain, knowing Frank Randall wrote that he would die there. Claire stays behind with Roger while Jamie, Young Ian and the men march to battle.
After the fighting, Claire leaves to find Jamie on the battlefield. She recognizes some faces among the dead as part of Jamie’s group, then sees Ferguson’s hidden gun come out after he says, “Never!” and shoots Jamie.
Claire And Jamie Alive Again
Ian and the men kill Ferguson after he shoots Jamie. Claire stays with Jamie through the night and into the next morning, when the pair are shown alive again.
Claire’s hair is fully gone white in the process of bringing Jamie back to life. The finale leaves the central pair alive at the end of the series while also closing with Gabaldon’s appearance at a book signing.
Finale Credits Scene
The episode uses its ending to tie the Battle of Kings Mountain to Frank Randall’s prediction and then reverses Jamie’s death on screen. That leaves the series finale with a hard stop on the battlefield and a final image of Jamie and Claire alive again.
