Alison Victoria Says HGTV Fired Her Over 'Canceled' Remark

alison victoria says HGTV fired her from Battle on the Beach after she used the word “canceled” on her podcast. The host says the dismissal followed her July 2025 comments that the series was not coming back, even though HGTV later said the show would return without her and Taniya Nayak.

Victoria said, “I said that ‘Battle on the Beach’ was canceled,” and added, “Now, that word should not have been used. I should have said it was ‘not renewed.’ That’s the language that I should have used.” She also said, “I believe it was all editing,” after calling the show “like adult spring break” on the episode she recorded with Retta.

Victoria said she was with Nayak when she learned she had been fired, and her reaction was blunt: “I looked at her and I just said, ‘I expected that for me,’” she said. “I didn’t feel mad, I didn’t feel sad. I just was like, ‘OK,’” she added. That response points to a fast internal break between a public remark and a network decision that removed one of the show’s original faces.

HGTV had paired Victoria, Nayak and Ty Pennington across four seasons of Battle on the Beach, so the shift is not just personal. It changes the show’s on-air lineup heading into its next run, with Sarah Baeumler and Mika Kleinschmidt taking Victoria and Nayak’s places alongside Pennington.

Ty Pennington Keeps The Format

Victoria framed the handoff as the end of one version of the series rather than a total erase. “We started that show. No one will ever take that away from us,” she said. “We made great television, and now it’s time to pass the torch and see what they’ve got.”

The practical takeaway for viewers is simple: the next season will not look like the last four. Pennington remains in place, but HGTV is changing two-thirds of the hosting team at once, which gives the show a different identity before the new season even airs.

Sarah Baeumler Mika Kleinschmidt

Sarah Baeumler and Mika Kleinschmidt are the replacements on the next season of Battle on the Beach. Victoria’s exit also arrives while she is waiting on word about Sin City Rehab, the other HGTV title tied to her name.

For HGTV, the move closes the door on a host who helped launch the series and opens a cleaner reset for the returning competition format. Victoria said, “We made great television,” and the network now has to prove the new trio can keep the audience with a different mix.
