Nate Diaz Blasts Charles Oliveira After Bmf Title Callout
Nate Diaz blasted Charles Oliveira after Oliveira called out Conor McGregor, and the bmf title angle now sits at the center of that exchange. Diaz said he wanted Oliveira once the belt was around, but he says Oliveira passed first and then reached for McGregor after one fight.
Diaz On Oliveira’s Turn
Diaz said Oliveira turned him down because he was trying to fight for titles and do bigger things. He framed that as the reason the matchup never happened, even though he said he had been waiting for Oliveira once the belt changed hands.
"Oliveira got the belt and I was waiting for s*** to happen" and "Oliveira’s the man. I’ve been around longer than Oliveira. Everybody thinks that he’ll kill me but I’m like yeah right." Diaz said he had wanted the fight when Oliveira was "around." He also said, "I always wondered why me and Oliveira never fought."
McGregor Callout Fallout
What sharpened Diaz’s criticism was the timing. Oliveira defeated Max Holloway to win the BMF title, then called out McGregor for a potential future showdown after that win. Diaz pointed to that sequence and asked why Oliveira would decline one fight and then chase another name immediately after.
"He’s been around and he said ‘no, thanks homie.’" Diaz said, describing Oliveira’s answer when he pushed for the matchup. Diaz also said Oliveira responded, "I’m trying to fight for titles and do all this big s***."
Diaz Pushes Back Hard
Diaz’s sharpest criticism was about opportunity and timing. "Because you’re right there and then he won f***ing one fight and then he called out Conor." He added, "Why are you trying to fight the guy who’s coming off a leg break, just got knocked out and is all f***ed up and f***ing on a downward spiral and you’re over here like ‘no thanks, homie, I’m trying to do bigger things.’"
Before this dispute, Diaz had said Oliveira was "always getting his ass whooped" when he was "f***ing everybody up." That line keeps the tension on the same point: Diaz believes Oliveira chose the wrong path first, then tried to redirect the spotlight once the BMF title was in hand.
For Diaz, the issue is not just one missed fight. It is the order of the calls, the belt, and the name he says Oliveira chose after saying no to him first.
