Dollywood Launches Cashless Splash Country Rollout for 2026
dollywood has started a cashless rollout at Splash Country, and the water park opened its 2026 season with no cash accepted at any point of sale. The main Dollywood theme park in Pigeon Forge is staying out of the change for now, so cash still works there.
The move reaches Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort & Spa and HeartSong Lodge & Resort on June 11. That gives the resort a split setup for a few days: one property already fully cashless, while the hotel side still has a short window before its own switch.
Splash Country Goes Cashless
Splash Country has welcomed guests since 2001, which makes this the first full-season payment shift at the water park in years. Guests can no longer pay with cash there at any point of sale, but the resort is still taking credit cards, debit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
For visitors arriving with paper bills, the practical fix is the Cash to Card kiosks. They convert cash into prepaid cards, and the kiosks have no loading fee. That keeps the new system from turning into a dead end for anyone who still shows up with cash in hand.
June 11 For The Hotels
DreamMore Resort & Spa and HeartSong Lodge & Resort, which opened in 2023 and has more than 300 rooms, will join the cashless rollout on June 11. Those properties will use the same card and mobile payment options as Splash Country, along with the same Cash to Card kiosks for cash-heavy guests.
Dolly Parton remains tied to the resort brand as the change moves through the hotels, and the company says cashless transactions are faster and create a smoother and safer guest experience. The business case is plain enough: the resort is keeping cash at the flagship theme park while shifting its water park and lodging to a faster payment system.
What Guests Need Now
The immediate takeaway for anyone planning a visit is simple: cash still works at the main Dollywood attraction, but not at Splash Country, and it stops working at DreamMore Resort & Spa and HeartSong Lodge & Resort on June 11. Guests who prefer cash have one built-in workaround, and it does not add a loading fee.
That setup favors guests who arrive prepared with cards or mobile wallets, but it does not lock out cash users. Dollywood is drawing a line between the park and the resort side, and the rollout makes that distinction visible at the register.
