Jaylen Brown Lands Five-Spot Nba Awards 2026 Finalist Group

Jaylen Brown is one of five finalists for nba awards 2026, putting the Celtics guard in position for the NBA Social Justice Champion award announced Friday. The winner will be revealed during the conference finals, and the prize includes the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Trophy plus a $100,000 NBA donation to a nonprofit of his choice.

Brown’s Boston XChange work

Brown earned the finalist spot through work aimed at economic equity and access to education in Black and Brown communities. His efforts centered on entrepreneurship, ownership and workforce development opportunities, the kind of off-court résumé that has become part of the award’s selection process since it was first handed out in 2021.

He co-founded Boston XChange and the Boston Creator Accelerator with the Jrue and Lauren Holiday Fund. Those programs helped build a $2.5 million capital pool for minority-owned businesses through funding, mentorship and institutional partnerships, giving the nomination a concrete financial footprint rather than a broad statement of intent.

Bridge Program results

Brown also kept his 7uice Foundation Bridge Program going for high school students across the country. During the 2025-26 season, 100 percent of Bridge participants were accepted to every college and university to which they applied, the clearest on-record measure tied to his education work.

That record gives Brown a different profile from the other finalists: Bam Adebayo, Harrison Barnes, Tobias Harris and Larry Nance Jr. Jrue Holiday, a former Celtics guard, won the award last year, and Brown now joins a finalist group built around community work rather than on-court numbers alone.

The lineup of finalists leaves the award open for another Celtics link to land the league’s social justice honor. If Brown wins, the nonprofit of his choice gets the $100,000 donation attached to the trophy, and the recognition lands in the middle of the conference finals rather than after the season has already closed.
