Mushfiqur Rahim-guided Bangladesh lead Pakistan by 156 after Litton's 126

mushfiqur rahim was not on the scoresheet, but Bangladesh still ended day two of the second Test in Sylhet in control, leading Pakistan by 156 runs after Litton Das made 126. Bangladesh closed on 110-3 in their second innings on Sunday, with three days still left in the match.

Litton Das drives the reply

Litton’s 126 carried Bangladesh to 278 all out after they had been 106-4 and then slipped to 116-6. He struck 16 fours and two sixes in an innings that turned a shaky position into a defendable one, and gave Bangladesh a 46-run first-innings lead before the second-innings work even began.

Mahmudul Hasan Joy added 52 off 64 balls, a sharp response after making a duck in the first innings. His 30-run contribution in the opening stands and the way he kept the innings moving helped set up the recovery around Litton.

Pakistan bowled out for 232

Pakistan were dismissed for 232, with Taijul Islam and Nahid Rana taking three wickets apiece. Taskin Ahmed removed Abdullah Fazal and Azan Awais early, while Mehidy Hasan Miraz dismissed Shan Masood and Saud Shakeel before lunch, leaving Pakistan chasing control they never regained.

Babar Azam made 68 with 10 fours, but his innings did not produce enough support around him. After the collapse, he said: “The turning point is my wicket and Salman Ali Agha’s wicket — after that we did not build any partnerships. These two dismissals changed the momentum.”

Bangladesh in front at stumps

Bangladesh’s second innings ended the day at 110-3, a position built on the lead from the first innings and the late damage in Pakistan’s reply. Rana also said: “I don’t know if they will think twice about bowling bouncers at me but I can say this much — if anyone bounces me, I will not let them off easily.”

With Bangladesh already ahead 1-0 in the two-match series, the day-two position in Sylhet leaves Pakistan needing a sharp response when play resumes. Bangladesh have the scoreboard advantage, the set batters, and a chance to turn Litton’s rescue into a match-winning spread.
