Colby Covington Removed From UFC Roster, Listed as Retired
colby covington is off the UFC roster and now appears as a retired fighter on the official UFC website. The move ends his active listing after 17 Octagon fights and closes the book on a former interim welterweight champion whose last bout ended in a December 2024 TKO loss to Joaquin Buckley.
Covington’s UFC Exit
Covington was among four fighters taken off the roster, and his name no longer sits with the active group. He joined the UFC in 2014, fought 17 times inside the Octagon, and went 12-5 before this roster change.
The timing lines up with a rough stretch that had already pushed him out of the rankings in April. He had not won a fight in over four years, with his last victory coming against Jorge Masvidal in March 2022.
From Interim Title to Removal
That arc is a sharp one for a fighter who reached the top tier in 2018, when he beat Rafael dos Anjos to capture the interim UFC welterweight title. Along the way, he also beat Robbie Lawler, Tyron Woodley, Jorge Masvidal, and Demian Maia in the UFC.
His most recent fight came against Joaquin Buckley in December 2024, and it ended by TKO. The official roster move places him alongside Mayra Bueno Silva, Brad Riddell, and Nathan Fletcher, who were also removed.
Covington still has one more combat date on the calendar outside the UFC. He is scheduled for an RAF wrestling match against Chris Weidman at the end of this month, and he has already beaten Luke Rockhold and Dillon Danis in RAF wrestling matches.
