Ellie Brazil Wins Brazil Fc With 13% Of Fans' Vote

Ellie Brazil won brazil fc’s Women’s First Team Fans’ Player of the Season after taking 13% of the supporters’ vote. Mary Bashford finished second on 11%, and Atlanta Primus was third on 10%, leaving the top three separated by just three points.

Brazil and the Saints vote

Hundreds of fans made their selection on the Saints app, and the margin at the top shows how tightly the vote was split. Brazil’s result came in her debut campaign at Southampton FC, with the forward collecting recognition from a fan base that followed the team at St Mary’s, the Silverlake and on the road.

Brazil's season return

The 27-year-old finished as the club’s second-top goalscorer with 8 goals in 24 games and added four assists. Her strongest single outing came in February, when she scored a hat-trick against Crystal Palace at St Mary’s.

Ellie Brazil's message

Brazil thanked supporters after the award and singled out the scale of their backing across the season. “Thank you so much for voting for me as your Fans' Player of the Season!” she said. “Everything [the fans] have done this year for us girls and the team hasn't gone unnoticed or unappreciated - whether it's been at St Mary's, the Silverlake, or up and down the country, the amount they've travelled to support us has been insane.”

She added: “It's a lovely award to receive and I'm really grateful.” And for the players and supporters who carried the season together, her final line pointed straight to next year: “I can't wait to see you all again next season, and we go again!”
