BYD to bring Byd Ti7 to UK within months

BYD will bring the byd ti7 to the UK within the next few months, adding a large three-row plug-in hybrid SUV to its British lineup. The model will wear a BYD badge in the UK and is set to arrive with higher levels of quality and features than the brand’s previously seen cars there.

The Ti7 seats seven people and uses BYD’s DM-p powertrain, which pairs two electric motors with a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine. BYD has revealed a 0-62mph time of 4.8 seconds and an all-electric combined range of 79 miles.

In China, the vehicle is sold under BYD’s Fangchengbao brand, which is described as an upmarket rival to Land Rover and Volvo. For the UK, BYD is switching to its own badge, while keeping the same boxy shape, upright stance, contrasting black bumpers and floating roof.

The Ti7 is already available in other markets, and BYD has positioned it as one of its most ambitious models yet. That makes its UK arrival a step up from the company’s earlier local range, which has not included a three-row SUV of this size.

Ti7 layout and power

The seven-seat layout includes two rear seats that can fold down into the boot floor. BYD says the Ti7 runs on unibody-style construction rather than a body-on-frame setup like the Toyota Land Cruiser, a design choice expected to help interior space and driving refinement.

The powertrain gives the Ti7 a different brief from a conventional large SUV. The DM-p system sends a majority of drive to the wheels through the electric motors, while the engine is used predominantly to charge the battery and can also drive the wheels directly at high speed.

UK arrival and buyer choice

For UK buyers, the immediate change is simple: a larger BYD option is on the way, and it arrives with seven seats, plug-in hybrid running and stronger performance figures than the brand’s smaller cars. The open question for shoppers is how BYD will price and position it when the Ti7 reaches showrooms within the next few months.
