Twenty One Pilots Sets Oct. 17 Ohio Stadium Show

Twenty One Pilots will play at ohio stadium on Oct. 17, putting the Columbus duo on one of the city’s biggest stages this fall. The show lands the same day the Ohio State Buckeyes face defending national champion Indiana, turning Oct. 17 into an unusual crossover day in Columbus.

General public tickets go on sale May 22. Death Cab for Cutie will open, giving the hometown show a second nationally known act before the band takes the field at The Shoe.

Ohio Stadium and Columbus

The announcement fits a pattern the band has been building around Columbus. Late Thursday night, a photo posted on X by a Twenty One Pilots fan account showed the band’s logo on the atrium of Ohio Stadium, after the group had already been teasing upcoming shows around town.

That trail included the logo appearing at The Basement on Neil Avenue and at Skully’s Music Diner in the Short North. Fans had been using social media to speculate about a Columbus tour stop or a possible live album, and the stadium reveal turned those hints into a date and a place.

Recent Columbus stops

The band’s history in the city stretches beyond this year’s stadium date. Last year, Twenty One Pilots performed for the NHL Stadium Series when the Columbus Blue Jackets beat the Detroit Red Wings 5-3 inside Ohio Stadium.

In 2024, the band also recorded a live music video for “Routines in the Night” during three nights of performances at Nationwide Arena. They filmed the “Stressed Out” music video in the Woodward Park neighborhood, keeping Columbus at the center of several of the group’s biggest public moments.

For fans, the main decision now is simple: wait for May 22 if they want in through the general public sale, or plan around a stadium date that will share the Columbus sports calendar with Ohio State on Oct. 17.
