Mayank Yadav Returns Fit With 155.8 kmph Pace, Bharat Arun Says
Mayank Yadav is fit again, bowling with really good pace and back in the frame for Lucknow Super Giants after two years disrupted by injuries. Bharat Arun said the fast bowler is a rare talent and someone the team must take care of.
Arun on Mayank Yadav
“If you ask any coach of any team, they would tell you that they would do anything to have a genuine quick in their team,” Arun said. He framed Yadav as exactly that kind of bowler, one worth protecting because the supply is so limited.
“Mayank is such a rare talent for us, but unfortunately, he has been out due to some injuries for the last two years and has been inconsistent in playing,” he said. “Now he is fit and raring to go. He is bowling with really good pace. He is somebody we have to take care of.”
Lucknow Super Giants and the debut burst
Yadav’s value comes from what he has already shown in the IPL. Two years ago, he made his debut for Lucknow Super Giants against Punjab Kings and returned three for 27, then took Player-of-the-Match honours.
That debut also brought the headline speed. He clocked 155.8 kmph, the fastest ball of the season at that point, and then bowled even quicker after that start. For Lucknow, that is the version of Yadav Arun is trying to preserve.
Rare pace, fragile availability
The complication is the stretch that followed. After his brilliant start, Yadav got injured and then spent the last two years in and out of action. His speed has never been the issue; holding onto it over time has been.
That is why Arun’s update matters for Lucknow Super Giants. A bowler described as a genuine fast bowler and a rare Indian talent changes the shape of a side when he is available, but the workload around him now has to be managed with care if the team wants more than one burst of 155.8 kmph pace.
