Dembele injury scare hits Arsenal Psg plans before 30 May

Arsenal psg now face a late injury scare: Ousmane Dembele was taken off after 28 minutes of PSG’s final league game on Sunday and will receive treatment for a muscle strain in his right calf over the next few days. PSG’s Champions League final against Arsenal is set for 30 May at Puskas Arena in Budapest.

PSG said Dembele was removed as a precaution during the match against Paris FC. Luis Enrique had initially suggested the change was needed because of fatigue, but Monday’s statement pointed to the calf issue instead.

Dembele’s season for PSG

The forward has been one of PSG’s most productive players this season. He scored 10 goals in 22 league appearances and added seven assists, while also scoring seven times in the Champions League.

He was named Ligue 1 Player of the Year for the second season in a row last week, which underlines how central he has been to PSG’s attack. His Champions League output included goals in each leg of the semi-final against Bayern Munich.

Puskas Arena against Arsenal

PSG’s trip to Budapest now carries a practical concern as well as a title chance. Dembele’s treatment plan runs into the final buildup, and his form is a major part of why PSG arrive with an attack built around quick finishing rather than volume alone.

That leaves the forward’s availability as the immediate watch point for PSG before the 30 May final. He was on the pitch for only 28 minutes on Sunday, and the team’s latest note makes clear the calf strain is the issue they must manage before Arsenal.
