Centerpoint restores all Monday storm outages, prepares for more storms
CenterPoint Energy restored power to all customers affected by Monday afternoon's severe thunderstorms in southwestern Indiana and said centerpoint crews worked through the night and Tuesday morning to get service back before more storms later in the day.
The company said more than 95% of its customers kept power during Monday's weather. It also said the latest outage information was available, giving customers a place to check updates as the region faced another round of severe weather Tuesday afternoon and evening.
Southwestern Indiana storms
Monday afternoon's thunderstorms hit southwestern Indiana, leaving CenterPoint to focus on restoration work overnight and into Tuesday morning. By Tuesday, every customer affected by the storms had service restored.
That left the company shifting from recovery to preparation. CenterPoint said it remained ready for additional severe weather to move through the region Tuesday afternoon and into that evening.
CenterPoint outage updates
For customers, the practical change is immediate: the outages from Monday are cleared, but the weather threat is not. CenterPoint pointed people to its latest outage information while crews stood ready for another round of storms.
The company did not give a new outage count in its update, but it did say the restoration work was finished for everyone hit by Monday's storms before the next weather system was expected to arrive.
