Jake Trbojevic Manly Contract Extension Secures 2027 Option
Jake Trbojevic Manly contract extension is done, with the 32-year-old agreeing to stay at the Sea Eagles after holding an option in his favour for 2027. The move keeps Manly’s captain and lock forward in place through at least 2027.
Trbojevic and Manly
Trbojevic’s decision follows an earlier hint that he was leaning toward another year, saying earlier in the month he was definitely leaning towards going around for one more year. He also reached his 250th game for Manly in the club’s most recent home game against the Broncos, a milestone that now sits alongside the contract call.
A club statement described him as Manly through and through. For a side trying to steady itself after a rough opening to the season, keeping the captain locked in removes one more variable from the roster picture.
Kieran Foran’s Turnaround
Trbojevic tied the extension to the club’s form shift under interim coach Kieran Foran. On NRL 360 on Tuesday night, he said, “Obviously it has been a great turnaround from the club” and added, “After the first three games we were very disappointed and since Foz has taken over we have been playing some really good footy, everyone’s confident and it’s been really enjoyable.”
He followed that up with another direct assessment of the change: “Ever since Foz has taken over it has been great and everyone is confident and we are getting a lot of belief on the back of the great performances.” That sits at the heart of why the extension lands now, not later: Manly’s captain is staying while the club believes the mood and results have shifted.
Foran’s View On Jake
Foran backed the call in a club statement, saying, “He’s playing some really good footy, the boys love playing with him, so this is great news for the Club.” He also said, “I think he’s done an amazing job in Tom’s absence as captain, both on and off the field.”
Foran’s strongest line was simple: “Jake is everything that is good about this club, he is Manly through and through.” With Trbojevic now set through 2027, Manly has kept its captain in place while the rest of the season unfolds around a coach who has already changed the tone inside the group.
