Fort Wayne police release Anita Grayson fight video, death investigation

Fort Wayne police released surveillance video showing anita grayson in a fight at a Tim Hortons before the 75-year-old later died. The footage is part of an ongoing death investigation, and the Allen County Coroner’s Office has not yet determined the official cause and manner of death.

Police said Grayson went into the restaurant to complain about an issue with her drive-thru order. They said the encounter escalated after she argued with a teenage employee and then fought with a 20-year-old shift lead who told her to leave.

The surveillance video released by police shows the confrontation inside the restaurant before Grayson died. Police also warned viewers that some of the footage may be disturbing.

After the altercation, Grayson sat at a table while talking on the phone, then lay down on the floor, according to police. A responding officer later found her unresponsive.

Allen County coroner review

Emergency crews performed life-saving measures at the scene before Grayson was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead. Police have not announced whether charges will be filed, and they said the investigation remains ongoing.

The coroner’s pending ruling keeps the case in a narrow lane for now. Without an official cause and manner of death, investigators have released the video and left the next step to the medical findings and any later decision on charges.
