Mick Foley Draws AEW Interest Before WWE Legends Deal Expires

AEW has expressed real interest in mick foley this year, and his WWE Legends deal is set to expire next month. The 60-year-old Hall of Famer has not stepped foot inside an AEW ring yet, but that could change if the sides find the right fit.

Mick Foley and AEW

Multiple sources said AEW’s interest is real, though the move could lead to either a signing or a one-off appearance. Foley said in June that he planned to let his WWE Legends deal expire, putting his next move in play as the contract runs out next month.

That leaves AEW with a clear opening if it wants to bring in one of wrestling’s most recognizable names. Foley has worked for nearly every major company in wrestling across the globe, and his first AEW appearance would still be a first for that ring.

Double Or Nothing In Flushing

AEW is building toward Double or Nothing in Flushing, N.Y., about an hour from where Foley grew up on Long Island. One source said they would not be surprised if there was a push to use Foley on the show if a deal could get done.

MJF is set for the main event at Double or Nothing against Darby Allin for the AEW World Championship, which gives the card a built-in spotlight if AEW chooses to add Foley to the event. The event location also keeps Foley close to home, which could make a nearby appearance the simplest path if the company wants him involved.

The main piece still unresolved is the extent of any talk beyond the initial inquiry. If AEW follows through, the result could be a signing or a single show appearance, and either route would put Foley on an AEW stage for the first time.
