Marie-Philip Poulin Wins Ilana Kloss Playoff MVP After 8-Point Run

Marie-Philip Poulin won the 2026 ilana kloss Playoff MVP after the Montreal Victoire closed out the Ottawa Charge 4-0 in Game 4 of the Walter Cup Final. The award capped Montreal’s first league championship in franchise history and came after the Victoire became the first Canadian team in league history to hoist the Walter Cup.

Poulin Drives Montreal

Poulin led the postseason with six assists and tied for the lead with eight points. She also set up Abby Roque’s game-winning goal in the clinching game, giving Montreal the final push it needed to finish the series.

In the Walter Cup Final, Poulin posted three helpers in four games. That production carried through the entire playoff run and put her at the center of the Victoire’s title push after Montreal had already beaten the Minnesota Frost in the first round.

Montreal’s Title Run

The result gave Montreal the first championship in franchise history and pushed the club into league history as the first Canadian team to win the Walter Cup. For a team that had already survived the Frost in round one, the 4-0 finish in Game 4 left no doubt about the final margin.

Poulin’s regular season came with a missed stretch as well. She sat out 11 games because of injury, yet still finished with nine goals and nine assists for 18 points while leading Montreal in goals during the regular season.

Ilana Kloss Winners

The award has now moved from one title team to another. Minnesota’s Taylor Heise was the first player to win it after the Frost beat the Boston Fleet in the 2024 Walter Cup Final, and Ottawa’s Gwyneth Philips won it last spring after leading the Charge to the final.

Poulin’s overall playoff track record now sits at four goals and eight assists for 12 points in 16 Walter Cup playoff games. Across three PWHL seasons, she has 38 goals and 29 assists for 67 points in 70 regular-season games, a body of work that matched the postseason surge Montreal just rode to a title.
